Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in education, physical education, or related field preferred.
• Prior coaching and/or playing experience in the assigned sport strongly preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before the season begins).

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead practices, conditioning sessions, and competitions for assigned sport.
• Teach fundamental skills, strategies, and rules of the game to student-athletes of varying abilities.
• Foster an environment of respect, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes at all times.
• Maintain equipment and facilities in safe, working condition; report any issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, administration, and athletic staff.
• Uphold school policies, league rules, and state regulations related to athletics and student conduct.
• Support the academic success of student-athletes by encouraging responsible time management and balance.
• Monitor and enforce attendance, eligibility, and behavioral expectations.
• Attend required meetings, training sessions, and professional development as assigned.
