Job description

Description

We create exceptional theatre experiences, inspiring generations to explore the wonder of their world.

Children’s Theatre of Charlotte (CTC) is proud to be an organization where a dynamic mix of talented, committed, and enthusiastic people gather to do their best work. As we inspire generations to explore the wonder of our world, we desire to see the unique and amazing, expanding tapestry of this world and community reflected in all our programming, behind the scenes, and in our team members, board and volunteers.

Curtain Up on Your Next Role

As our Box Office Associate, you're often the first face patrons see and the first voice they hear on the phone, which makes you a key part of the magic before the show even begins.

We're looking for enthusiastic, motivated, personable, customer-centric people to join our Front of House team. Candidates must be available to work most weekends — performances typically run daytime on Saturdays and Sundays, with occasional Friday evenings. Hours and days may vary, with some flexibility, and you can generally expect no more than 10-15 hours per week. There are also opportunities to pick up occasional weekday hours during key points in the season.

  • Engage with customers in person, by phone, and by email to provide top‑notch service.

  • Process orders, exchanges, and refunds for productions, classes, and camps using the AudienceView ticketing system.

  • Help manage Will Call during performance times.

  • Assist with various administrative tasks under the direction of the Customer Experience Manager.

  • Keep House Managers in the loop on special patron needs (like wheelchair accommodations), ticketing issues, and seats sold per performance.

Requirements

We'd Love to Hear From You If...

  • You're equal parts people‑person and computer‑savvy — bonus points if you've worked with a CRM or ticketing software before.

  • You love spotting customer needs and jumping in to create positive experiences, from answering questions to resolving issues.

  • You're comfortable navigating a variety of apps and digital tools, including ticketing/CRM systems and MS Office or Google Workspace.

  • You're excited about connecting our community to Theatre for Young Audiences.

  • You're multilingual or bilingual — a great plus, though not require.d

  • You lead with kindness, equity, cultural awareness, and sensitivity.

Job Perks and Unexpected Benefits

  • Work alongside a dedicated team of professionals passionate about bringing first‑class live theatre to young audiences

  • Complimentary tickets (when available) to shows during the season

  • A schedule that works with you — we do our best to be flexible around your availability
