Job summary

Meyer Distributing is hiring a Box Machine Operator in Carlisle, PA. The role focuses on sorting, preparing, and packaging products with attention to safety, quality, and teamwork. You’ll operate a box machine, perform reads of pick tickets, and maintain accurate labeling and packing processes.

Ideal candidates have basic computer skills, the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and be comfortable with heights. Warehouse experience and forklift/man lift certification within 3 months are a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Read pick tickets and sort product accordingly.
• Scan product with handheld scanners.
• Pack product using appropriate materials.
• Place labels on packed product.
• Use banding equipment as required.
• Stage product for shipping via UPS/FedEx/LTL/truck.
• Keep the warehouse clean and organized.
• Wear protective toed shoes and work safely at all times.
• Assist Lead/team with corrugate changes for the box machine.
• Ensure box machine area is clean at end of shift.
• All other duties as assigned.

The Box Machine Operator is responsible for sorting, preparing and packaging product requiring custom packaging. The ideal candidate will consider safety, quality and team work to a high regard, and work well in a team environment.

Hourly Rate and Schedule

• $17.50 - $18.50 per hour, based on experience
• Stable schedule: 5-day work week ~40 hours
• Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm (start/end time may vary based on coverage and business needs)
• Located in Carlisle, PA

Box Machine Operator Requirements

• Strong attention to detail; able to read letters and numbers.
• Basic computer skills.
• Adaptable to change and able to handle multiple tasks.
• Reliable, on-time, and follows directions.
• Good communication with team and supervisors.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Previous warehouse experience and ability to operate a forklift or man lift (cherry picker), preferred.
• Ability to engage in repetitious bending and lifting.
• Must obtain forklift and manlift certification within 3 months.
• Must be able to work up to 25 feet above ground level.
• Must not be afraid of heights.

Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of our WMS software
• Wear safety gloves while handling metal products
• Able to read, identify and sort product based on pick ticket details
• Scans product using handheld scanners
• Use advised packing material when packaging product
• Places necessary labels on packed product
• Uses banding equipment on product is required
• Stages product for shipping in proper location for UPS/Fed Ex/LTL/truck shipments
• Keeps warehouse and work area clean and organized at all times
• Wears protective toed shoes and works in a safe manner at all times
• Assist Lead/team members when changing corrugate for Box machine
• Ensure Box machine and work area is clean and neat before leaving EOD
• All other duties as assigned
