Job summary

Meyer Distributing in Carlisle, PA is seeking a Box Machine Operator to sort, prepare and package product with standard safety and teamwork. The role offers $17.50–$18.50 per hour, a stable 5-day work week and a typical 9:00am–6:00pm schedule.

Location is Carlisle, PA. Responsibilities include operating the box machine, using WMS software, scanning with handheld devices, labeling and banding products for shipment.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail; able to read letters and numbers.
• Basic computer skills.
• Adaptable to change and able to handle multiple tasks.
• Reliable, on-time, and follows directions.
• Good communication with team and supervisors.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Previous warehouse experience and ability to operate a forklift or man lift, preferred.
• Able to engage in repetitious bending and lifting.
• Must obtain forklift and manlift certification within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of our WMS software
• Wear safety gloves while handling metal products
• Able to read, identify and sort product based on pick ticket details
• Scans product using handheld scanners
• Use advised packaging material when packaging product
• Places necessary labels on packed product
• Uses banding equipment on product as required
• Stages product for shipping in proper location for UPS/Fed Ex/LTL/truck shipments
• Keeps warehouse and work area clean and organized at all times
• Wears protective toed shoes and works in a safe manner at all times
• Assist Lead/team members when changing corrugate for Box machine
• Ensure Box machine and work area is clean and neat before leaving EOD
• All other duties as assigned
