The Melrose Georgetown Hotel in Washington, DC is seeking a Sales Manager to maximize occupancy and room rates in coordination with hotel operations. The role emphasizes aggressive sales activity to increase profits through targeted outreach and effective proposal management.

Core duties include managing client room blocks, coordinating with catering on events, and maintaining ongoing sales reporting and planning with the DOS.

Qualifications

• Strong business communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
• Talk and listen to clients, demonstrating excellent sales skills by knowing and selling product in a professional and courteous manner.
• Ability to work in a high demand, sometimes high pressure environment.
• High work ethic and self-initiative.

Responsabilités

• Conduct active sales solicitation with outside sales calls, appointments, calls, and direct mail.
• Assist the Director of Sales in preparing the annual marketing plan and action plans for market segments.
• Send proposals on leads that fit the property profile and follow through to convert to definite status.
• Outline client room block and meeting space requirements on booking sheets for accurate reservations.
• Obtain and route necessary information on definite groups, including billing, credit, rooming lists, and VIP arrangements; coordinate with catering.
