Job summary

Sumaria Systems LLC in San Antonio, TX, seeks a Network Security Engineer II (Boundary Protection) to support JBSA and the AFINC III program, focusing on firewall/IDS/IPS, proxies, and enterprise boundary protection of DoD resources.

With 5+ years in enterprise network security and DoD experience, the candidate will operate in a 24x7 environment, maintain DoD cybersecurity standards, and collaborate with Government teams. A TS clearance and CCNA are required, PCNSA/PCNSE preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in enterprise network security or cybersecurity operations
• Experience supporting DoD boundary protection and/or CSSP operations
• Strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxies, and load balancers
• Experience with network security monitoring and threat detection
• Experience performing complex analytics to identify and mitigate threats
• Understanding of DoD cybersecurity standards and DoDIN operations

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, monitor, troubleshoot, upgrade, patch, and harden firewalls, IDS/IPS, load balancers, and web proxies
• Protect AFNet resources from internal and external threats in accordance with DoD standards
• Perform advanced analytics on boundary protection systems to detect and mitigate threats
• Conduct Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) and support DoDIN operations
• Monitor system health and respond to anomalous activity and cyber incidents
• Ensure systems comply with DoD cybersecurity requirements and security configurations
• Document system changes, troubleshooting actions, and incident response activities
• Coordinate with Government stakeholders and other technical teams to maintain mission readiness
