Job summary

The American Heart Association seeks an Executive Director to lead fundraising and community impact efforts in the Boston, MA market. You will drive revenue, manage a donor portfolio, and oversee a board of directors, guiding 3 direct reports within a ten-person Boston team.

The role is based in the Wellesley office with a hybrid schedule and significant travel across the territory. You will develop strategic plans, build partnerships with corporate and community leaders, and ensure alignment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of relevant experience and 6 years of managerial experience, ideally with a sales or fundraising team in a similar organization.
• Direct knowledge of special event fundraising tactics is crucial.
• Public health experience is helpful.
• Solid understanding of how to engage and work with philanthropic communities.

Responsibilities

• Devise and implement the strategy and direction for the Boston market’s unified health and revenue efforts, with bottom-line responsibility.
• Guide and direct the team to achieve KPIs.
• Hire, direct, train, and evaluate staff to implement a comprehensive strategic plan with strong development to drive growth in unrestricted revenue.
• Develop and manage a volunteer Board of Directors to guide leadership and initiatives.
• Build partnerships with volunteers, community and corporate leaders, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
• Develop profiles of top businesses and organizations within the market with plans to secure involvement.
• Build relationships with key corporate leaders to support initiatives and roles.
• Meet with staff to review programs and procedures and optimize efficiency.
