Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection seeks skilled officers to perform inspections and enforce laws at various U.S. ports of entry.

You will conduct inspections, analysis, and operations to prevent terrorists and contraband from entering the United States while supporting trade and travel security. This position requires citizenship, residency, and successful completion of background checks and firearms qualifications. Onboarding includes assignment to the D.C.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Residency in the United States for three of the last five years is required.
• Background investigation and/or polygraph may be required.
• Firearm qualification required and ongoing
• Bargaining unit: NTEU, GS-09/12 track information.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and law enforcement activities at Ports of Entry.
• Conduct intelligence analysis and risk assessment for travelers, cargo, and conveyances.
• Develop, plan and participate in tactical operations.
• Interact with carriers, other agencies and foreign entities to exchange information on admissibility and compliance.
• Provide guidance on methods and agency policy during duties.
