Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hiring for a CBP Officer position across multiple locations in the United States.

You will perform inspections, intelligence analysis, and enforcement duties at Ports of Entry to detect and prevent threats to the homeland. Join a team of homeland security professionals, working from onboarding through to CBP duties, with a focus on safeguarding borders and enabling legitimate trade and travel.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and meet residency requirements.
• Successful completion of a background investigation and/or polygraph.
• Pre-employment process conducted in English.
• Firearm qualification requirements according to Gun Control Act and related amendments.
• Bargaining unit: NTEU; must meet public service standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections at Ports of Entry to ensure admissibility and security.
• Conduct intelligence analysis and use non-intrusive technology as part of inspections.
• Interacting with carriers, agencies, and foreign entities to exchange information and guidance.
• Develop, plan and participate in tactical operations to protect the U.S. homeland.
