Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seeks a Customs and Border Protection Officer (CBPO) to enforce customs, immigration and agriculture laws at U.S. ports of entry. The role covers inspections, eligibility determinations, and ensuring lawful travel and trade.

Positions are full-time at GS-5/7/9 levels with competitive base pay and benefits; incentives for prioritized locations can reach up to $15,000 per year, plus potential overtime up to $45,000.

Qualifications

• GS-5 requires a bachelor's degree or 4 years of college or equivalent.
• GS-7 requires specialized experience or a combination of experience and higher education.
• GS-9 requires specialized experience or higher level graduate education.

Responsibilities

• Enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture law and regulations.
• Enforcing the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
• Conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances.
• Determining the admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
