Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating the ability to take charge and make sound decisions in stressful situations; learn regulations and methods; gather information through questioning and observation.
• Bachelor's degree or completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree; OR
• Combination of general work experience and education; will be calculated from resume and transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of immigration and customs violations and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and infrared scopes.
• Interpreting tracks and evidence of illegal entry; performing farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways using vehicles, horses, vessels, and other assets.
