Qualifications

• One year of general work experience showing ability to take charge and stay calm under stress.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
• Combination of general work experience and education may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using various surveillance methods.
• Interpret tracks, marks, and physical evidence of illegal entry; perform farm/building/traffic/city/transportation checks.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using vehicles, horses, vessels, and other assets.
• Utilize recruitment and retention incentives as offered.
