Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents across multiple entry and mid-level grades. The role offers base pay and federal benefits with potential recruitment incentives and retention bonuses.

Training at the Border Patrol Academy provides comprehensive instruction in immigration, law enforcement, and safety procedures. Appointments include typical duties at or near borders, involving inquiry, inspection, surveillance, and vehicle or asset-based patrols.

Qualifications

• One year or more of related experience or education in safety, security, or law enforcement.
• Must meet minimum qualification requirements for GL-5/7/9/11 levels.
• Knowledge of immigration and federal law enforcement concepts.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violations; inspect documents and belongings.
• Patrol borders and suspect areas using various assets.
• Interrogate and interpret tracks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Perform checks of farms, buildings, traffic, and city/transportation routes.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways with government assets.
