Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents at multiple entry and mid-level grades. The role involves federal law enforcement duties, border control, and safeguarding the United States while facilitating lawful travel and trade.

Qualifications

• General work experience demonstrating the ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and remain composed in stressful situations.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or an eligible combination of experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents and possessions.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the borders using surveillance and various assets.
• Interpreting and following tracks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Performing farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks; patrolling borders and coastal waterways.
