Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking Border Patrol Agents across multiple grades to protect the borders and enforce immigration and customs laws while supporting lawful travel and trade.

The role offers competitive base pay, strong federal benefits, and incentives including recruitment and retention bonuses. Duty locations span the United States with opportunities for advancement and training at the CBP Academy.

Qualifications

• US citizenship and residency requirements apply.
• Education may substitute for experience as described; bachelor's degree qualifies.
• Combination of experience and education is acceptable with transcripts submitted.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration and customs violations.
• Inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Maintain surveillance near borders to apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers.
• Perform checks of farms, buildings, traffic and city areas during patrols.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various assets.
