Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents to join a vast federal law enforcement team dedicated to protecting the United States. BPAs enforce immigration and customs laws, inspect documents, and conduct border surveillance to deter illegal entry and contraband.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating leadership, decision-making, and staying composed in stressful situations.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study.
• Combination of general work experience and college education may qualify for GL-5/7/9 or GS-11 levels.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question people suspected of immigration and customs violations and inspect documents.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-vision assets.
• Interpret tracks and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Perform farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using varied government assets.
