Job summary

Qualifications

• Applicants must have U.S. citizenship and meet residency requirements.
• Experience as a law enforcement officer is required; training may be provided.
• Spanish proficiency is required after Academy; training provided.
• GL-9/GS-11 requires one year of specialized experience at or above next lower grade.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspect documents.
• Prevent and apprehend aliens near borders using surveillance and technology.
• Interpret tracks and evidence of illegal entry and contraband.
• Perform patrols, vehicle checks, and inspections across duty locations.
• Patrol borders using diverse assets to accomplish USBP mission.
