Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Formal Border Patrol Academy training or equivalent is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Detect immigration and customs violations and inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night operations.
• Interpret tracks, marks, and other evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Perform farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks.
• Patrol the international boundary and coastal waterways using various government assets to fulfill the USBP mission.
