U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) invites applications for Border Patrol Agent (BPA) positions. These are full-time, entry to mid-level roles where education or public safety experience may qualify you for this Federal Law Enforcement opportunity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or completed four-year course leading to a bachelor's degree.
• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situations.
• Combination of general work experience AND college education may qualify for lower or higher grade levels.
• previous law enforcement or military law enforcement experience may qualify at GL-9 or GS-11 level.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using various patrol methods and surveillance.
• Interpret tracks and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband to aid investigations.
• Patrol borders and coastal waters using a range of vehicles and assets to fulfill CBP mission.
