Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is seeking experienced Border Patrol Agents (GL-9/GS-11) for full-time career positions with sign-on and retention incentives. The role offers a base salary in the GL-9/GS-11 range, locality pay varying by location, and incentives up to $60,000 plus a retention package.

Duty locations span multiple sectors across the U.S. Qualified candidates will have prior law enforcement experience and will undergo training at the Border Patrol Academy.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to next lower grade level.
• Ability to arrest, restrain, and enforce laws.

Responsibilities

• Detect suspected violations of immigration and customs laws and inspect documents.
• Maintain surveillance and use infrared scopes during operations.
• Interpret tracks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Perform patrols and checks of vehicles, settlements, and border areas.
• Patrol the border using various assets to fulfill USBP mission.
