Job summary

Point Loma Nazarene University is seeking a Temporary Ministry Coordinator to support Border Engagement Ministries during the Fall semester. The role offers up to 19 hours per week and focuses on coordinating logistics for ministry experiences along the San Diego–Tijuana border in a Christ-centered environment.

Responsibilities include scheduling, transportation, and communications; supporting student leaders; and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Experience coordinating events, ministry programs, or volunteer activities preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement; willingness to align with PLNU's Community Life Covenant.
• Background check required; Fair Chance laws apply.
• Physical requirements: sedentary with walking; lift up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics for Border Engagement ministry experiences, including day trips, weekend opportunities, and events.
• Assist with scheduling, registration, participant communication, and event preparation.
• Coordinate transportation, supplies, materials, and hospitality for ministry activities.
• Support student leaders and volunteers during ministry events.
• Communicate with campus departments and community ministry partners on logistics.
• Maintain ministry records, calendars, and documentation.
• Promote Border Engagement opportunities to students.
• Support educational events and special programs related to border engagement.
• Provide administrative support to the University Chaplain and Student Life team.
• Perform other duties to support Border Engagement Ministries.
