Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA, seeks a Build Supervisor (Booster Structures Manufacturing) to lead a team of propulsion technicians and welders in a new subassembly work center. The role focuses on coaching, scheduling, safety, and process excellence to support increasing launch rates.

The candidate will mentor welders and technicians, coordinate with engineering to optimize production, and uphold 5S and safety standards on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in final assembly production (aviation/aerospace/mechanical systems in lieu of a degree).
• Experience leading a team or a project for 2+ years.

Responsibilities

• Manage an hourly workforce of technicians and welders; deliver daily work assignments.
• Create and maintain a tight production schedule and provide daily team assignments.
• Recruit and develop welders and technicians; provide technical mentorship.
• Track shop floor metrics and maximize delivery rate with high asset utilization.
• Collaborate with management and engineering to streamline processes and resolve issues.
• Lead by example, motivate the organization for safety, quality, and rate improvements.
• Drive 5S and safety culture; ensure PPE use and risk mitigation.
