Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Build Supervisor for Booster Structures Manufacturing to lead the propulsion subcontract team on the Starship program. You will oversee welders and technicians, drive safety, quality, and schedule adherence, and help establish a new subassembly work center.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or 5+ years in final assembly in aerospace, plus 2+ years of leadership. A&P license and welding experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience in final assembly production (aviation/aerospace)
• 2+ years of experience leading a team or a project

Responsibilities

• Manage hourly workforce of technicians and welders; assign daily work and provide feedback
• Create and maintain a production schedule and daily team assignments
• Recruit and develop welders and technicians; provide technical mentorship
• Track shop floor metrics; maximize delivery rate with engineering
• Collaborate with management and engineering to streamline processes and resolve issues
• Lead by example; motivate for safety, quality and rate improvements
• Maintain 5S culture and continuous improvement on the shop floor
• Ensure safety through equipment health, PPE training and risk mitigation
