Job summary

New Castle Building Products in Middletown, NY, seeks an experienced crane/forklift operator to join our safety‑driven team. You will operate boom cranes, verify loads, maintain lifting gear, and support warehouse order fulfillment with a strong emphasis on accuracy and customer service.

Requirements include NCCCO/C boom certification, OSHA 10, CDL Class A/B with HazMat, and at least 2+ years in building materials. We offer competitive pay, benefits, and a professional, safety‑minded environment.

Qualifications

• Must have Articulated Boom Crane or Knuckle Boom Certification.
• NCCCO certified.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• CDL Class A or B license with Hazmat Endorsement.
• 2+ years Class A or B experience in similar settings.
• Prior experience in building materials is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with strong customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Operate boom to lift and move building materials from ground storage to top of building.
• Inspect and adjust crane mechanisms or lifting accessories to prevent malfunctions or damage.
• Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities to prevent overload.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain cables, pulleys, or grappling devices, making repairs as necessary.
• Operate forklift in a safe manner with proper safety equipment.
• Frequent lifting and moving of material up to 80 pounds.
• Ability to function in a dynamic warehouse environment including order fulfillment.
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills for positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Observe and follow all safety practices; attend safety meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Wage Range: $28 - $32/hour plus additional benefits. In compliance with applicable law, this range is a good faith estimate based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law.
