Job summary

New Castle Building Products in Eastport, NY is seeking a steady Boom Operator / Driver to safely transport material to client sites and load/unload at warehouses and customer locations.

You will operate a boom crane, inspect equipment, maintain lifting mechanisms, and uphold safety practices. Valid articulated boom crane or knuckle boom certification, NCCCO, and CDL (A or B with Hazmat) are required. This role offers union benefits and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Must have articulated boom crane or knuckle boom certification.
• NCCCO certification required.
• OSHA 10 certification required.
• Forklift experience in warehouse environments.
• Hazmat endorsement on CDL.
• Customer-service oriented with good interpersonal skills.
• Minimum 2+ years in Class A or B driving experience.
• CDL Class A or B with Hazmat endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Operate boom to lift/move building materials to top of building.
• Inspect and adjust crane mechanisms to prevent malfunctions.
• Verify load weights against lifting capacities to prevent overload.
• Maintain cables, pulleys, and other lifting gear
• Operate forklift safely with proper safety equipment
• Lift/move materials up to 80 pounds regularly
• Work in a dynamic warehouse environment and support order fulfillment
• Maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues
• Follow all safety practices and attend safety meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned

We are looking for a steady, highly-qualifiedBoom Operator / Driverfor ourEastportlocation.In this role, your responsibilities will be to safely transport material to the client's location, load/unload material from the warehouse to and from your truck as needed, and unload material when you arrive at thecustomer's site. We prefer experienced candidates who are professional, courteous, and always drive safely.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

• Operate boom to lift and move building materials from ground storage areas and trucks to top of building
• Inspect and adjust crane mechanisms or lifting accessories to prevent malfunctions or damage.
• Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities to prevent overload.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain mechanisms such as cables, pulleys, or grappling devices, making repairs as necessary
• Operate forklift in a safe manner with proper safety equipment
• Frequent lifting and moving of material up to 80 pounds
• Ability to function in a dynamic warehouse environment including order fulfillment
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills for positive relationships with both customers and colleagues
• Observes and understands all safety practices and procedures
• Attend safety meetings as required
• You will be expected to perform other duties as assigned

Requirements for the role:

• MUST have Articulated Boom Craneor Knuckle Boom Certification
• NCCCO certified
• Prior experience in building materials a plus
• Must be detail and customer service oriented
• OSHA 10
• Warehouse and truck mounted forklift experience
• At least 2+ years Class A or B experience
• CDLClass A or B license with Hazmat Endorsement

Wage Range: $29.00 - $36.50/hourbased on the Union Contract. In compliance with applicable law, this range is a good faith estimate based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law.
