Job summary

New Castle Building Products, Inc. is seeking a steady, highly-qualified Boom Operator / Driver for our Eatontown, NJ location. This role involves safely transporting building materials to client sites, loading and unloading from the warehouse to the truck, and unloading at the customer site.

Candidates should have articulated boom crane or knuckle boom certification, NCCCO, CDL with Hazmat, OSHA 10, forklift experience, and a customer-focused approach in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Articulated Boom Crane/Knuckle Boom certification is required.
• NCCCO certification is required.
• CDL Class A or B with Hazmat endorsement is required.
• OSHA 10 certification is required.
• Warehouse and truck-mounted forklift experience is required.
• Prior experience in building materials is preferred.
• Detail-oriented with strong customer service orientation.
• At least 2+ years Class A or B experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate boom to lift and move building materials to the top of buildings.
• Inspect and adjust crane mechanisms to prevent malfunctions.
• Determine load weights and check against lifting capacities.
• Maintain cables, pulleys, and related mechanisms.
• Operate forklift safely in a warehouse setting.
• Frequent lifting and moving of material up to 80 pounds.
• Interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Follow safety practices and attend safety meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are looking for a steady, highly-qualified Boom Operator / Driver for our Eatontown, NJ location. In this role, your responsibilities will be to safely transport material to the client's location, load/unload material from the warehouse to and from your truck as needed, and unload material when you arrive at the customer's site. We prefer experienced candidates who are professional, courteous, and always drive safely.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

• Operate boom to lift and move building materials from ground storage areas and trucks to top of building
• Inspect and adjust crane mechanisms or lifting accessories to prevent malfunctions or damage.
• Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities to prevent overload.
• Clean, lubricate, and maintain mechanisms such as cables, pulleys, or grappling devices, making repairs as necessary
• Operate forklift in a safe manner with proper safety equipment
• Frequent lifting and moving of material up to 80 pounds
• Ability to function in a dynamic warehouse environment including order fulfillment
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills for positive relationships with both customers and colleagues
• Observes and understands all safety practices and procedures
• Attend safety meetings as required
• You will be expected to perform other duties as assigned

Requirements for the role

Wage Range: $28 - $32/hour plus additional benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, 401k, Paid time off including vacation, sick, caregiver, and bereavement as well as paid company holidays.
