Responsibilities

• Bookkeeping engagements: lead reconciliations, month- and year-end close, GL maintenance.
• Payroll processing: prepare payroll, quarterly reports, W-2s and related entries.
• Accounting tasks: calculate and process sales tax; assist with 1099s.

For over 35 years, Councilman, Farlow, Marlowe & Co., PLLC, a dynamic public accounting firm located in Greensboro, NC, has provided tax, accounting, consulting and business advisory services to a diverse roster of business and individual clients. We are currently seeking a dedicated team player with 5+ years of recent public accounting experience to lead accounting, bookkeeping and payroll tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Bookkeeping Engagements - Lead tasks including account reconciliation, month and year-end close, and general ledger maintenance


• Payroll Processing - Process payroll, quarterly payroll reports and W2s, record payroll journal entries, handle payroll taxes, and maintain employee records


• Accounting Tasks - Calculate, prepare and process sales tax and assist with 1099 preparation

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of recent public accounting experience


• Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and PC skills including Microsoft Office and QuickBooks software proficiency


• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with all levels of staff
