Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. seeks an experienced bookkeeper to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll and client service in Nicholasville, KY. You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, prepare payroll and assist with tax statements while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

You will collaborate with clients and vendors, prepare financial statements and support client retention and growth opportunities, contributing to our reliable financial services for communities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications or ability to obtain.
• 1–3 years bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations.
• Confidential information handling with discretion.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Strong organization and time-management; ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and growth opportunities.
