Job summary

H&R Block in Florissant, MO is seeking a detail‑oriented bookkeeping clerk to enter operational data into the client’s bookkeeping system, recording income, expenses, bank charges, and labor hours with accuracy.

You will endorse and deposit checks, balance and reconcile ledgers, and prepare periodic reports on business income and expenses. You may assist with payroll processing and maintain a manual filing system to support our clients’ records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No previous work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Enter operational data into the client's bookkeeping system and determine the best method to record financial information (income, expenses, bank charges, labor hours).
• Manually record information into the bookkeeping system.
• Endorse checks and deposit into the correct accounts daily.
• Prepare charge card transactions as received and report income/bank charges.
• Balance and reconcile ledgers for inclusion in the client's general ledger.
• Develop detailed periodic reports on business income, expenses, taxes, and other needs.
• Perform payroll services per client requests, including payroll checks and required reports.
• Maintain a manual filing system for hard-copy documents.
• Identify process issues and propose solutions to management and clients.
• Participate in trainings and meetings to improve bookkeeping services.
