Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Balance and reconcile ledgers; reconcile cash and bank accounts.
  • Develop periodic reports on income, expenses, taxes, and other client needs.
  • Perform payroll services and prepare payroll reports in line with wage and hour laws.
  • Maintain a manual file system for hard-copy documents after entry.
  • Identify issues in current processes and inform management with proposed solutions.
  • Participate in meetings and training to improve bookkeeping services.
  • Attend training related to effective performance of duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

About The Role
  • Receives operational data for entry into the client’s bookkeeping system and determines the best method to record the financial information, such as income, expenses, returned checks, bank charges, and labor hours/codes. Manually records information into the bookkeeping system.
  • Ensures all checks are endorsed properly and deposited into the proper account each day. Prepares all charge‑card transactions on the day received and reports all income and bank charges and related information.
  • Balances and reconciles ledgers, which become part of the client’s general ledger system, and reconciles cash and bank accounts on an agreed‑upon basis, comparing account balances to other recorded sources.
  • Develops detailed reports on a periodic basis for the client regarding business income, business expenses, gross taxes, and other reports as needed.
  • Performs payroll services as requested, including preparation of payroll checks, monthly, quarterly and annual employee and employer payroll reports, and ensures payroll is prepared in accordance with local, state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Maintains a manual file system to store hard‑copy documents after entry into the record‑keeping system.
  • Identifies issues with current processes and notifies management of potential concerns and solutions, and informs the client of any issues, concerns and solutions related to the maintenance of the client’s financial records.
  • Participates in meetings and training sessions to continuously improve the bookkeeping service provided to the client.
  • Attends training related to the effective and efficient performance of job duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job‑related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short‑term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan. Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.

Pay Range

$15.16 - $58.00/hr.
