Job summary

Scholastic is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to support its Texas branch. The role entails supervising daily warehousing activities, advancing safety protocols, and coordinating packing, shipping, and inventory management for book fairs and related events.

You will work with the Operations Manager to plan, schedule, direct, and execute day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to company standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; College degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience.
• Experience with a sales/service distribution organization preferred.
• Ability to analyze, develop, and implement plans to achieve goals.
• Strong computer skills; MS Office and email proficiency.
• Ability to use scanners effectively with minimal errors.
• Good interpersonal skills; ability to lead teams.
• Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs; push/pull up to 300 lbs; climb ladders.
• Overtime and weekend availability.
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Assist in hiring and recruiting for warehouse staff.
• Conduct orientation for new associates with mentor program.
• Supervise and train warehouse personnel; maintain morale and productivity.
• Evaluate and document performance; manage salary changes and goals.
• Expedite school re-orders and oversee UPS/ground shipping.
• Adhere to OSHA, DOT, and EEOC regulations.
• Conduct monthly safety meetings and promote wellness.
• Investigate incidents with Branch Manager.
• Schedule staff and maintain attendance records.
• Assist in Labor Hours Tracking and production planning.
• Manage packing for fairs and stock replenishment.
• Oversee packing and display per schematics; seasonal resets.
• Ensure quality and monitor inventory levels.
• Assist with physical inventory counts and warehouse sales.
• Train staff on the inventoryScanner system.
