Job summary

Scholastic is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor in Texas to support the local branch team. You will assist in hiring, supervise staff, and optimize day‑to‑day warehouse activities, including packing, shipping, and inventory control.

The role emphasizes safety, productivity, and quality in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with management to evaluate performance, implement improvements, and ensure accurate data for labor and inventory.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in a sales/service distribution environment preferred.
• Strong computer skills with MS Office and email.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., push/pull 300 lbs., and climb ladders.
• Forklift certification or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in hiring and recruiting for warehouse staff.
• Conduct orientation for newly hired associates, including a mentor buddy.
• Supervise, develop, and train all warehouse personnel and maintain morale and productivity.
• Evaluate and document warehouse performance; conduct appraisals and set goals.
• Oversee packing, shelving, and UPS/ground shipping processes.
• Adhere to OSHA, DOT, and EEOC regulations and safety practices.
• Monitor inventory levels and prevent out‑of‑stock situations.
• May operate forklifts during peak periods (if certified).
