University of Richmond seeks a Book Arts Studio Assistant to support the Book Arts Studio in Boatwright Memorial Library. Qualifications

  • UR student in good standing, enrolled in undergrad or graduate program.
  • Interest in book arts and printmaking.
  • Experience with art materials and bookbinding preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with studio technologies like 3D printing, laser cutting or CNC routing is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Book Arts Studio Manager and Director with creation of handmade books, prints, and samples.
  • Organize and maintain studio tools and materials.
  • Help visitors use software on Windows and Mac.
  • Troubleshoot technology challenges with staff or students.
  • Perform routine maintenance of binding and printing equipment.
  • Prepare materials for class instruction and events.
  • Assist with setup/breakdown of pop-up maker events.
  • Support Open Hours when students use tools and equipment.
