Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a part-time, day-shift position in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. The APP will evaluate, diagnose, and manage adult hematologic malignancies and transplantation patients, ensuring continuity of care through all transplant phases.

Ideal candidates have Hematology/Oncology experience, knowledge of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and cellular therapies like CAR-T, and managing post-transplant complications.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing (Adult Acute Care NP) or PA program required.
• Current CRNP/PA-C license and board certification required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate plan of care, discharge planning and referrals as appropriate.
• Perform comprehensive physical exams and interpret patient data.
• Order and interpret laboratory and other diagnostic tests.
• Assist in performance improvement activities and research protocols.
• Educate patients, families and staff about care plans and treatments.
