Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time day shift in the Division of Hematology/Oncology. The role focuses on evaluation, diagnosis, and management of hematologic malignancies and patients undergoing stem cell transplantation, with BMT inpatient coverage and cellular therapies.

Candidates with 1–3 years of APP experience in hematology/oncology or BMT are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in nursing with Adult Acute Care NP or graduate from an accredited PA program.
• Current Alabama APRN-CRNP or PA-C license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS/PALS may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care for hematology/oncology patients within scope of practice.
• Evaluate, diagnose and manage disease; coordinate plan of care and referrals.
• Assist in stem cell transplant procedures and cellular therapies.
• Support inpatient BMT coverage and education for staff and patients.
