Job summary

Stellar Technology Inc. is seeking a Bonding Operator II to produce high-quality assemblies per production work orders.

The role covers bonding, trimming strain gauges and tabs, applying adhesives, and curing processes while ensuring quality standards are met. Prepare and inspect parts using basic electrical checks and precision instruments, follow drawings and procedures, maintain safety and housekeeping, and participate in continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3–5 years related work experience or capable of performing scribing, abrasive blasting and parts cleaning.
  • Must be able to perform gauge resistance testing and visual inspection.
  • Ability to learn and apply basic technical concepts.
  • Able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork.
  • Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed.
  • Possess basic computer skills including database software and electronic mail software.
  • Must have 20/20 vision with correction, and no color blindness, steady hands with good dexterity.

Responsibilities

Bonding Operator II

Salary Range: $20.00 To $24.00 Annually

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for providing effective, efficient high-quality assemblies as required by production work orders. This position is also responsible for quality, training, work distribution and continual improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Works in a manner that meets or exceeds established effectivity goals of the facility.
  • Manufactures high-quality products meeting quality specifications and workmanship standards.
  • Performs the following tasks:
    • Bonding:
      • Layouts for strain gauge positioning
      • Strain gauge and tab trimming
      • Applies strain gauges
      • Applies tabs
      • Prepares and cures adhesives.
  • Performing scribing, abrasive blasting and parts cleaning.
  • Perform gauge resistance testing and visual inspection.
  • Performs trimming strain gauges; performs strain gauge bonding for all standard products and application of tabs.
  • Inspects your own work and makes adjustments to correct difficulties.
  • Performs basic electrical checks and uses precision measuring instruments to verify work quality.
  • Works from detailed drawings, work instructions, specifications, and production control documents.
  • Possesses basic computer skills; performs data entry for production reporting and attendance, and retrieves information electronically.
  • Ensures proper waste disposal procedures are followed for handling residual and/or hazardous waste.
  • Places waste in the properly labeled container(s).
  • Follows safety procedures; uses proper PPE; attends training and reports any spills.
  • Works safely, performs required housekeeping tasks, and actively participates in all plant safety directives while adhering to all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities.
  • Ability to work overtime.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 – 5 years related work experience or capable of performing scribing, abrasive blasting and parts cleaning.
  • Must be able to perform gauge resistance testing and visual inspection.
  • Ability to learn and apply basic technical concepts.
  • Able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork.
  • Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed.
  • Possess basic computer skills including database software and electronic mail software.
  • Must have 20/20 vision with correction, and no color blindness, steady hands with good dexterity. (Company issued annual eye exam.)
