Berkeley County Government is seeking a part-time Bond Clerk to support the Magistrate Office at the Berkeley County Summary Court. The role emphasizes accurate data entry, friendly public service, and efficient handling of bond paperwork.
Typical duties include processing bond documents, answering phones, sorting mail, and providing clerical support to court staff. A high school diploma and 2 years of related experience are required.
This position typically provides the performance of basic administrative tasks; and deals courteously and effectively with fellow employees and citizens.
This position requires the employee to sit and use hands to handle, feel, finger, grasp or operate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; use mental acuity and repetitive motion; and walk, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
The work is regularly performed in a relatively safe, secure and stable work environment. Hours will not exceed twenty-nine (29) hours per week. Currently the normal working hours during Bond Court is daily 8:00am and/or 6:30pm until Bond Court is complete, seven days a week including holidays. Scheduled hours/days, job location, duties and any other information contained herein is subject to change. May be required to work extra hours and to perform extra or different duties during emergency situations. Hours of operation and scheduled days are determined by the Chief Magistrate and are subject to change.
