Job summary

Watts Water Technologies, based in Hutchinson, KS, seeks a detail‑oriented coordinator to manage BOMs, part master data, and work orders in the ERP system. This onsite role supports material planning, labor tracking, and manufacturing operations within the Operations team.

You will ensure accurate data entry, proper routing, and timely material movements, partnering with production and inventory teams to keep schedules on track.

  • Post material transactions and reconcile inventory records.
  • Investigate discrepancies and close completed work orders.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Production, Purchasing, and Inventory teams.
  • Maintain records and documentation for production control.

Scope of Position

This detail‑oriented and analytical individual, as part of the Operations team, is responsible for coordinating workflow across manufacturing departments to support efficient production execution. The role maintains accurate Bills of Material (BOMs), processes work orders, supports inventory transactions, and ensures production information is entered and maintained accurately within the ERP system to facilitate material planning, labor tracking, and manufacturing operations. This position reports to the VP of Operations. This role is onsite and based in Hutchinson, KS.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain accurate Bills of Material (BOMs) within the ERP system, making corrections and updates as required.
  • Assign new part numbers and maintain part master information in accordance with company standards.
  • Process and release work orders as they are generated.
  • Create and maintain work orders for manufactured assemblies, ensuring routing and material structures are accurate and complete.
  • Create work orders for subassemblies and component parts and enter labor tracking requirements.
  • Print boiler pick lists and distribute work orders to the appropriate production departments.
  • Review completed work orders to verify quantities produced, labor reporting, and material usage.
  • Post material transactions and receive completed parts into inventory after verifying accuracy.
  • Investigate and correct discrepancies related to work orders, inventory transactions, and labor reporting.
  • Close completed work orders in the ERP system.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Production, Purchasing, and Inventory personnel to support manufacturing schedules and workflow requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to production control activities.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the VP, Operations or Company management.
  • Demonstrate accountability, integrity, transparency, and commitment to continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 2+ years’ experience in manufacturing, production planning, inventory control, ERP systems, or BOM management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, spreadsheets, and email applications.
  • Strong understanding of inventory transactions, physical inventory processes, and production reporting.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and logical reasoning skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail when working with numbers, data, and system transactions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify discrepancies, and resolve data‑related issues.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform computer‑based work.
  • Ability to grasp, stoop, squat, and perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
  • Must successfully complete employment eligibility and satisfactory complete background checks, including drug screening, and required pre‑employment testing as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Accounting, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in production control, manufacturing planning, inventory control, materials management, or ERP administration.
  • Experience creating and maintaining Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Experience processing manufacturing work orders and labor reporting transactions.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing routing structures and production scheduling concepts.
  • Experience with inventory reconciliation, cycle counting, and inventory accuracy programs.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial production environment.
  • Familiarity with MRP, ERP, or other manufacturing planning systems.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement, process standardization, or operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, data analysis, and reporting.

Working Conditions

While performing the job duties, the employee will primarily work in an office environment within a manufacturing facility and will have regular interaction with production personnel and warehouse operations. Occasional visits to production and inventory areas may be required to verify materials, inventory, and work order information.

Physical Requirements

Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to: ability to remain seated at a desk or workstation for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing, data entry, and mouse usage. Ability to read production documents, reports, inventory records, and computer screens. Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, and production personnel. Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, printers, and copiers. Ability to move throughout office, warehouse, and manufacturing areas as necessary. Ability to occasionally bend, stoop, squat, reach, and grasp objects while reviewing inventory or production information. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment when entering manufacturing areas.
