Job summary

Watts Water Technologies in Hutchinson, KS, is seeking a safety-focused assembler to join the Production team. You will assemble boiler components, finish to specifications, and support a safe, efficient work environment onsite.

Scope of Position

This safety-focused and quality-driven individual, as part of the Production team, is responsible for the assembly and finishing of boiler components in one or more manufacturing disciplines, including tubing, insulation, refractory, pipefitting, and painting. The role ensures products are assembled according to specifications, quality standards, and production schedules while supporting a safe and efficient manufacturing environment. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. This position reports to the Production Supervisor. This role is onsite and based in Hutchinson, KS.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret shop orders, work instructions, and production documentation.
  • Operate air tools, power tools, and standard hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Assemble boiler components and related equipment according to specifications and quality requirements.
  • Ensure components are properly installed and finished to achieve required appearance, fit, and functionality.
  • Assist with training and mentoring employees within assigned departments as needed.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to improve workplace safety and reduce injuries or hazards.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to safely operate air tools, power tools, and standard hand tools.
  • Ability to read and accurately use a tape measure.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, construction, or industrial production experience.
  • Experience in boiler manufacturing, pipefitting, insulation, refractory installation, painting, or related industrial trades.
  • Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or other material-handling equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to interpret detailed mechanical drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools and performing quality inspections.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices.
  • Experience training or assisting in the onboarding of new employees.

Working Conditions

While performing the job duties, you will be working on‑site in a manufacturing facility. You will be required to work at the Company’s location in Hutchinson, KS. Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.

  • Specific physical abilities required for this position include, but are not limited to: Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.
