Job summary

Springfield Health Care Center is seeking a Business Office/Human Resources Manager to join our leadership team. This role oversees business office operations and supports HR functions, including payroll, onboarding, employee relations, and administrative processes that contribute to the success of our facility.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative, capable of aligning HR with our mission to provide compassionate care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of HR management experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, wage-hour regulations, and SNF compliance requirements.
  • Experience recruiting and onboarding healthcare professionals, including nurses and caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee facility business office operations, including accounts receivable, resident billing, collections, and cash posting.
  • Monitor outstanding accounts receivable and aging reports, identify delinquent accounts, and actively reduce balances.
  • Coordinate resident and responsible-party billing and communicate regarding balances, statements, and payment arrangements.
  • Assist residents and families with Medicaid applications, redeterminations, and required financial documents.
  • Verify and maintain accurate resident insurance and payer information (Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, private insurance).
  • Work with Admissions, Social Services, Nursing, and billing teams to ensure accurate payer sources and timely billing information.
  • Maintain accurate daily census information and reflect changes in facility systems.
  • Participate in Triple Check and other billing review processes to ensure accurate Medicare and third-party billing.
  • Manage resident trust accounts in accordance with federal, state, and company requirements.
  • Assist with month-end closing, financial reporting, reconciliations, and deposits.

We are currently seeking a Business Office/Human Resources Manager to join our leadership team. This key position is responsible for overseeing business office operations and supporting human resources functions, including payroll, onboarding, employee relations, and administrative processes that contribute to the success of our facility.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Oversee facility business office operations, including accounts receivable, resident billing, collections, and cash posting.

  • Monitor outstanding accounts receivable and aging reports, identify delinquent accounts, and actively work to reduce outstanding balances.

  • Coordinate resident and responsible-party billing and communicate professionally regarding balances, statements, payment arrangements, and financial obligations.

  • Assist residents and families with Medicaid applications, redeterminations, pending Medicaid accounts, and required financial documentation.

  • Verify and maintain accurate resident insurance and payer information, including Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, private insurance, and private-pay accounts.

  • Work closely with Admissions, Social Services, Nursing, and corporate billing teams to ensure accurate payer sources and timely authorization and billing information.

  • Maintain accurate daily census information and ensure admissions, discharges, payer changes, and room changes are properly reflected in facility systems.

  • Participate in Triple Check and other billing review processes to help ensure accurate and timely Medicare and third-party billing.

  • Manage resident trust accounts in accordance with applicable federal, state, and company requirements.

  • Assist with month-end closing processes, financial reporting, account reconciliation, deposits, and other business office functions as assigned.

  • Monitor Medicaid eligibility, patient liability, applied income, and other resident financial obligations to minimize potential revenue loss.

  • Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation in preparation for audits, surveys, and internal compliance reviews.

  • Partner with facility leadership and corporate teams to identify revenue-cycle issues and improve collections, billing accuracy, and overall financial performance.

  • Support the interviewing, hiring, and onboarding staff.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including labor laws specific to healthcare and SNFs.

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, and leave policies.

  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary actions.

  • Support HR policies and procedures in alignment with company goals and industry regulations.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and documentation.

  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations.

  • Support and guide department heads in managing their teams effectively.

  • Ensure a positive workplace culture that promotes employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. May substitute experience in lieu of degree.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of HR management experience, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, wage and hour regulations, and SNF compliance requirements.
