Job summary

Fontana in Lafayette, IN is hiring a Boltmaker Operator to set up various boltmaker machines and manufacture fasteners. You will meet daily production and quality goals, follow BOM tooling sequences, and perform machine setup and basic preventative maintenance.

Candidates should have strong mechanical ability, good math, ability to read blueprints, and be able to work 8+ hours with occasional OT in a non-climate controlled plant. High school diploma preferred; training provided.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical ability.
• Excellent attention to detail and troubleshooting skill.
• Able to read blueprints and interpret measurements.
• Good math skills and ability to interpret metric and standard dimensions.
• Able to retain and apply information from machine manuals.
• Ability to multi-task and manage several operations.
• Identify and use various hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily production and quality goals.
• Verify parts meet specifications using micrometers, calipers, and other gauges.
• Follow BOM to identify tooling sequence.
• Set up machine aspects (wire draw, header, pointer, roll section, tracks, conveyors).
• Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on machines.
• Secure raw materials when required.
• Operate multiple boltmaking machines (Sacma, National, Formax, Nedschroef).
• Record production activities and machine performance.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment.
• Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.
