Job summary

ASARCO LLC in Arizona is seeking a skilled boilermaker/welder to perform maintenance and welding on shovels, drills, fleet trucks, and shop projects at the Ray mine. The role requires reading blueprints, multi-tasking, and strict adherence to safety procedures in a heavy industrial environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, technical training or apprenticeship, and Boilermaker/Welder certification. The position is hourly and on-site with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Technical School or 1–2 years related experience and/or state approved apprenticeship.
• Boilermaker/Welder (Vertical and Overhead Welding) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Analyze welding procedures for specific metallurgical properties and select materials and weld procedures for projects.
• Weld from all positions and adjust procedures as needed.
• Identify materials and tailor welding accordingly.
• Design, layout, fabricate and analyze metal repairs and failures.
• Fabricate, fit and weld from blueprints and drawings.
• Operate hand and power tools and shop equipment.
• Follow safety procedures with minimal supervision.
