Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking an assistant to support boiler, vessel, and piping installations in field settings. You will follow blueprints, use hand and portable power tools, and work safely to install, verify, and repair components.

Responsibilities

• Cut or drill holes to accommodate the passage of pipe.
• Assist Pipe Fitters in the layout, assembly, and installation of piping.
• Supply pipe, elbows, flanges, hangers or supports to the fitter.
• Cut to correct length, bevel and thread pipe as directed.
• Fit or assist in fitting valves, couplings, or assemblies to tanks, pumps, or systems using hand tools.
• Bolt, clamp and support components for welding.
• Assist with testing and flushing requirements.
• Keep fitter supplied with tools and equipment.
• Mount brackets and hangers on walls and ceilings to hold pipe and set sleeves or inserts to provide support for pipe.
• Disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe.
• Perform general housekeeping duties and keeps work area clean.
• Other duties as assigned.
