Job summary

Zachry Group is seeking a skilled Boilermaker to work in an industrial refinery or chemical plant environment in Pasadena, CA. You will read and interpret drawings, perform rigging and structural work, and fabricate, weld, and install boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, and towers.

Responsibilities include coordinating with cranes, inspecting components, and leading erection activities while maintaining strict safety standards and compliance with project requirements.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Experience with steel erection and structural installation.
• Knowledge of safe rigging practices and bolt methods.
• Basic welding knowledge (MIG, stick, and gas).
• Willingness to follow company and customer policies.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, IFC drawings, specs to determine scope and installation procedures.
• Identify tools, equipment, and materials required.
• Recognize jobsite hazards and implement safety precautions.
• Assemble, inspect, repair, and maintain boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, exchangers, and towers.
• Fabricate equipment and components according to blueprints and specs.
• Hoist materials using cranes and rigging devices.
• Verify alignment of structural steel using transit, levels, lasers, and plumb bobs.
• Connect columns, beams, girders, and structural members with bolts.
• Position and secure steel members for permanent installation.
• Cut, bend, fit, and weld steel components.
• Lead steel erection, fabrication, rigging, grid layout, and installation.
• Review drawings and specs before work begins.
