Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Warren State Hospital is seeking a Utility Plant Operator 2 to keep the facility powered and safe. You will work with high-pressure boilers and related mechanical systems, performing operation, monitoring, and maintenance to support continuous hospital operations.

This full-time role requires rotating shifts 4:00 PM–12:00 AM, occasional overtime, and no telework. Competitive state pay scale; salary range $44,273 to $66,055 annually, with standard benefits, and

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 or equivalent, or six months semi-skilled experience in operation/maintenance/repair of utility plant systems.
• PA residency requirement waived for this title.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and adjust high-pressure boilers and related systems.
• Collect samples and test water; treat water systems to maintain feedwater quality.
• Repair, replace, and maintain pumps, motors, and plant components.
• Make emergency repairs and diagnose problems to maintain operations.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and keep areas safe and clean.
• Rotate shifts to ensure continuous plant operations.
