This position is responsible for monitoring and operating the facility’s boiler system and related equipment while maintaining safe, reliable, and continuous plant operations.What You’ll DoAs a Boiler Operator, you will be responsible for:Operate and monitor boilers, burners, pumps, fans, conveyors, and fuel systemsMonitor boiler pressure, temperature, water levels, and fuel supplyMake adjustments to maintain safe and efficient operationPerform routine inspections and identify equipment issuesMonitor water treatment systems and perform blowdownsMonitor fuel systems, including wood waste, bark, and sawdustPerform routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor maintenanceAssist Maintenance with repairs and troubleshootingMaintain accurate operating logs and recordsKeep the boiler room and work areas clean and safeRemove ash and boiler-related wasteReport hazards, equipment issues, and other concernsCommunicate operating conditions and shift updatesAssist with other plant operations as neededWhat You’ll BringThe ideal candidate will have:High school diploma or GED preferredPrevious boiler, industrial, manufacturing, sawmill, mechanical, or maintenance experience preferredBoiler operator certification or license, if requiredBasic knowledge of boiler and mechanical systemsAbility to read gauges, meters, and controlsBasic mechanical troubleshooting skillsAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsStrong attention to safety and reliabilityAbility to maintain accurate recordsUnderstanding of LOTO and industrial safety proceduresAbility to work around heat, steam, noise, dust, machinery, and other industrial hazardsAbility to climb stairs and ladders and perform physical workAbility to lift and carry up to 50 poundsAbility to use hand tools and required PPEWhy Join Us?Full-time opportunity with Douglas County Forest ProductsImportant role supporting continuous plant operationsOpportunity to build boiler operation and maintenance skillsSafety-focused work environmentWork alongside experienced Maintenance and plant operations teamsLocation & Schedule:This position is on-site in Roseburg, OR, offering rotating 12-hour shifts: one month days (7a-7p), one month nights (7p-7a), with shift rotation over a 3-4 day workweek.
