Job summary

Southshore Health is seeking a Boiler Plant Operator to report to the Mechanical Plant Supervisor. You will operate, control, and maintain high pressure boiler and steam generating systems to provide heat and power for hospital operations.

The role includes routine tours, inspections, and documentation of plant conditions. Responsibilities include planning/performing PM tasks, keeping logs, and ensuring safe, efficient operation while following supervisor guidance for emergencies and fuel

Qualifications

• Experience operating high pressure boiler and steam systems.
• Ability to perform scheduled tours and inspections.
• Strong record-keeping and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor boiler and chiller plant equipment.
• Perform planned/preventive maintenance and document results.
• Maintain logs, readings, and reports for energy consumption and maintenance.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies per supervisor instructions.
• Ensure safety protocols and regulatory compliance are followed.
