Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Boiler Plant Operator for the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) - West Campus. You will operate and monitor the METASYS energy management system 24/7, maintaining boiler plant operations and related equipment.

The role requires experience with boilers, maintenance, and control systems, with a rotating shift schedule and attention to safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in operating and repairing boiler plant equipment is required.
• Ability to read instructions, specifications, and blueprints.
• Ability to operate equipment/machinery with minimal supervision.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and monitoring of systems.
• Comfort with using electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair and operate domestic hot water boilers and chiller plant equipment.
• Monitor and calibrate equipment; perform preventive maintenance.
• Operate and monitor the METASYS energy management system.
• Respond to alarms from HVAC and related control systems.
• Work a 24/7 rotating shift schedule as assigned.
