Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of direct experience operating high‑pressure industrial or commercial steam boiler systems.
• Knowledge/training in water treatment and boiler chemistry is strongly preferred or required by SOW.
• NC High-Pressure Stationary Engineer Certification (Class 1) is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and control high‑pressure steam boilers, hot water generators, feedwater systems, pumps, compressors, fuel systems, and water treatment equipment.
• Monitor gauges, meters, BMS/SCADA systems, combustion efficiency indicators, and safety devices to ensure safe operation.
• Adjust controls to maintain proper pressure, temperature, water levels, and fuel‑air ratios; perform routine testing of boiler feedwater, condensate, and cooling water.
• Perform preventive maintenance on boilers, burners, pumps, valves, piping, and control systems; maintain logs and report safety hazards or equipment failures.

Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting Boiler Plant Operator to support the Fayetteville VA Medical Center located 2300 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301. The position is paying $85 - $95.09/hour. The schedule is typically 12-hour shifts. • Track system parameters, fuel usage, water quality results, and maintenance activities


• Report safety hazards, equipment failures, environmental concerns, and operational incidents


• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, boiler safety codes, and environmental requirements

Qualifications

• North Carolina High-Pressure Stationary Engineer Certification (Class 1 required)


• Must meet requirements of VHA Directive 1810


• OSHA 10-Hour Safety Certification


• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Certification


• Confined Space Entry Certification


• Knowledge/training in Water Treatment and Boiler Chemistry (strongly preferred/required by SOW)


• 3 to 5 years of direct experience operating high-pressure industrial or commercial steam boiler systems

• Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift


• Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
