Job summary

Strategic Resilience Group seeks an experienced Boiler Plant Operator for Nashville, TN, onsite at the VA Medical Center. You will operate and monitor high-pressure steam boilers, perform daily inspections, maintenance, and keep precise logs.

The role requires strong safety focus, ability to complete VA onsite qualification training, and hands-on experience in regulated environments. You will provide shift hand-offs and support emergency coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience installing, servicing, and operating high‑pressure steam boilers up to 2,500 HP.
• Experience in regulated or institutional environments.
• Ability to complete 90 days of onsite VA qualification training prior to independent operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, start up, and shut down high‑pressure steam boilers and associated plant equipment
• Perform daily boiler plant operations, inspections, and logging of pressures, alarms, and gauges
• Test and operate all safety devices and control systems
• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance (PMs) on boiler plant equipment
• Prepare equipment for inspections and audits
• Monitor facility systems and respond to emergent utility issues
• Maintain accurate operational logs and documentation
• Provide shift hand-offs and communicate unresolved issues
• Support emergency coverage shifts (up to 30 additional hours per operator annually)

• Test and operate all safety devices and control systems

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Contract-Required)

• Minimum 5 years experience installing, servicing, and operating high-pressure steam boilers up to 2,500 HP
• Prior experience in boiler plant operations in a regulated or institutional environment
